I’m spending some time in a different part of the country. Along with getting to hang out with family, I also get to escape the polar vortex currently consuming my part of the world.
People here ask me all the time, “How in the world do you deal with the cold?” I shrug and say, ”There’s not much to do besides bundle up and get on with life.” This region is known for rain, and they have a similar philosophy. Rain doesn’t really slow anyone down. I walk every day and meet lots of people out and about just like me: slicker hood up, hair curling in the mist and a cheerful smile on their face.
It probably doesn’t make any sense to let a little thing like weather get in the way of enjoying life. Dress appropriately, and get on with it.
[…] Yes, it rains sometimes in the Northwest. But it’s rather beautiful. And it slows no one down. […]
